Popescu, Alexandru

Alexandru Popescu was born in Bendery, Moldova. He studied Communication Sciences at the Free International University of Moldova. For several years, he worked as a reporter for press agencies, television, and radio stations in Chișinău. He has been living in the United Kingdom since 2017. He made his debut in literature in 2022 with the novel Montana, which won the Moldovan Writers’ Union Award the following year. In the spring of 2023, the author’s second novel, Adâncuri incolore (Colorless Depths), was published. The book was selected among nine other works to be adapted into a film script as part of a project led by the Association of Independent Filmmakers of Moldova. In March 2024, the title was nominated for the Ziarul de Iași National Prize in Romania. In April 2024, the author published his third book, Ecografie (Ultrasound).
