Eva Karlíková is a student in the master’s program in Territorial Studies at Charles University, specializing in Russia and Eastern Europe. Since September 2025, she has been a doctoral student in media studies at the Faculty of Social Sciences at Charles University, where she researches media freedom and the organizational behavior of autonomous editorial offices in Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine.
She has long been interested in media freedom, political transformations, and civil society in the post-Soviet space. From 2022 to 2024, she worked in the human rights department of the organization People in Need, focusing on supporting independent media in Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine. From 2021 to 2022, she worked on development projects for Charita ČR in Georgia and Moldova, and then in 2022 on Charita ČR’s humanitarian program in Ukraine.
She has traveled extensively in Eastern Europe, the Caucasus, and Central Asia. She collaborates with Deník N, where she wrote about the imprisoned Georgian journalist Mzia Amaghlobeli. In January 2025, she spoke on the podcast “Světoví” about the protests and the changing political environment in Georgia.
